Introducing an Ingenious Feature in iPhone Cases
A Phone Case with Added Convenience
Initially, I almost declined the chance to test this unique phone case, simply because it seemed like an unusual idea. Who would think of turning a phone case into a sprayer? Nevertheless, the thought struck me: I take my smartphone everywhere, and I'm frequently using hand sanitizers. Could these two needs come together efficiently? That’s when my curiosity got the better of me.
That's the story of how I ended up with this case, spritzing sanitizer directly from my device.
Suriv's Spray Case: A New Approach
The Suriv Spray Case offers a clever way to have your favorite spray-ready substances at your fingertips.
Firstly, yes, it functions as promised. It's straightforward and possibly not essential for everyone. Let's delve into the details.
Exclusively for iPhone 12 and newer versions, the case is minimalist in design, with no graphical flair, which might not appeal to those looking for visually striking covers.
This accessory also boasts shock absorption and is impervious to leaks. It includes refill essentials: a reusable cartridge, a backup plug for losses, and a tool for transferring liquids. Other features comprise a user-friendly spray button, a safety lock against leaks, raised edges for camera protection, antimicrobial materials, and a limited lifetime guarantee.
A close-up view highlights the case’s nozzle, plug, and locking mechanism.
Though initially advertised for hand sanitizers, the case is adaptable. Water-based perfume, insect repellents, or sunscreen can easily fit the bill. For my trial, I opted to use a liquid sanitizer, though I envision a switch to sunscreen in the coming months.
The sprayer delivers a fine mist efficiently, without drips, and is simple to prepare. It took mere minutes to set up. The real challenge lay in extracting enough sanitizer to fill the reservoir, especially for products not designed as liquids like gels.
Filling the Suriv case for my iPhone 14 Pro with Touchland hand sanitizer was straightforward.
Using the provided tools, I filled the case, sealed it up, and was ready to go. Though suggested, a coin wasn't necessary to secure the plug—I found my thumb worked just fine.
Extracting the liquid is just as easy merely following the setup steps in reverse. A potential concern could be contamination between different liquids. Fortunately, flushing with water eliminates residue and prepares it for a new fill.
Despite losing MagSafe capability and adding a bit of bulk to the phone's back, it slides comfortably into a pocket. Its $40 price tag seemed fair to me considering my expectations were higher.
Offered in various colors, the Suriv doesn't include patterns or designs.
This accessory is a promising addition for those venturing outdoors—be it camping, beach trips, or road adventures. It forges a new path in the realm of phone accessories. Although it doesn’t compete with the likes of Otterbox directly, it stands out with its innovation.
Who Should Consider This?
For the majority, this case serves a very specific purpose. Likely, it won't replace your regular case if MagSafe and sleek design are priorities.
I recommend it for occasions like travel or outdoor activities. Regular sanitizer users or those in industries such as healthcare and education might find it particularly beneficial.
