Apple Launches Repair Parts for iPhone 16 Lineup
Official Parts Now Available for iPhone Repairs
Apple has announced that they are now selling repair parts for their latest iPhone 16 models directly through their self-service repair store. This includes essential components such as cameras, screens, and back glass panels, coming soon after the release of Apple’s official iPhone 16 repair guides earlier this September, as noted by MacRumors.
Replacement costs for these components are defined: the camera assembly is priced at $169 for iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, while it's $249 for 16 Pro and Pro Max models. Display replacements can range from $279 to $379 depending on the specific model. For those needing a new battery, prices are set at $99, climbing to $119 for the Pro versions. Additionally, Apple offers specialized repair tool rental for $49 for those without the necessary equipment.
Easier DIY Repairs for Apple Users
Undertaking self-repairs on an iPhone is now less complicated due to Apple’s progressive approach to repairability. This method also tends to be more budget-friendly compared to professional repairs, especially if you consider sourcing second-hand parts. Apple has plans to support more affordable third-party components like batteries and displays later this year.
