Elderly Resident Hurt as Deer Crashes into Michigan Senior Home

/ CBS Detroit reports that a centenarian woman is on the mend following a surprising intrusion by a deer at her senior living community.

According to the Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety, the unusual event unfolded on Monday evening at Arbor North Living, situated in Blackman, an area located north of Jackson.

The staff informed the police that a male deer had charged into one of the apartments. They were initially unsure if the resident, who was inside, had been harmed.

Upon arriving, police observed the deer through a locked sliding glass door leading to a patio. An officer shattered the door glass, subsequently enabling the deer to flee into the adjacent wooded area.

An elderly woman, aged 103, was discovered by the officers with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening. She was treated at her location prior to being transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

Officials explained that the deer had made its way into the woman's apartment through a glass window in her bedroom while she was resting.
